Community Radio Workshop

The community has been following up on a initiative to sponsor its own community radio station. The local coordinator and participants will utilize an online course to prepare for the workshop which will be a live, on air broadcast. There will be emphasis on using the audio components of the community television studio in order to establish a familiar "front-end" for the community radio station.

Preparation:

The community radio special event enhances the 2005 Come Home Year celebrations so preparation includes getting ready for the community activities.

Review the online community radio course at www.ryakuga.ca/radioworkshop/.

Publicize the radio event with posters; community TV announcements, and Come Home Year publicity material.

Set up the interview appointments for Come Home Year. Find two other clips of community interest in the video archives.

Prepare a schedule for participants and a program for the broadcasts.
