STEERING COMMITTEE


Chosen by the CIS sponsoring group

Mandate:

To establish an appropriate structure to support the CIS whole school model; i.e., identify provincial and national programs such as the Youth Corps.

To ensure funding is in place to provide programming.

When beginning a CIS initiative, a steering committee should be set up while the initial proposal is being developed.

The steering committee should be in place before hiring personnel.

Meets quarterly.



REGIONAL ADVISORY GROUP


Composed of the partners identified in proposal which funds the program.

Mandate:

Advisory; make decisions on hiring procedures; should reflect local resources required for programming; identify community needs.

Meets monthly.

Meetings attended by CIS district co-ordinator and regional
co-ordinator.



SCHOOL-BASED ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Chosen by school administrator.

Mandate:


Responsible for day-to-day implementation and monitoring of CIS programs in the school.

Meetings attended by CIS community co-ordinator.

Meets monthly or as required.
