SCHOOL ASSESSMENT

There are identifiable characteristics of a school within which a CIS whole school program will flourish. However, each CIS program uniquely meets the needs of its school and community. So it's not necessary to check every "yes".

1. A school needs assessment.

2. A Memorandum of Understanding.

3. A staff willing to co-operate with the implementation of CIS programs.

4. A staff willing to give time to the implementation of CIS programs.

5. Students to volunteer for CIS.

6. The community (including parents) are welcome in the school.

7. Administrator arranges a meeting of staff with CIS representatives.

8. A meeting of CIS representatives with representatives of the student body.

9. Formation of a school based advisory committee.

10. Regular weekly meetings of administrator and the CIS co-ordinator.

11. Monthly meetings (or as the need arises) of the school based advisory committee.

12. Financial contribution from the school.
