The Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador, Ryakuga and local partners worked together on Tuning in to Climate Change - an innovative participatory communications project designed to increase public awareness and discussion. This project, funded by The Government of Canada's Climate Change Action Fund, began in April 2003.
The final Climate Change event was from Signal Hill, St. John's, - where Marconi received the first ever transatlantic radio broadcast - on October 28, 29 and 30.
The first was hosted by the western Newfoundland community of Kippens (April, 2003); the second broadcast from the Forestry centre in Corner Brook (May), while the third was hosted by Terra Nova National Park at their Marine Interpretation Centre (August, 2003).
Each event was broadcast locally on FM stereo radio and webcast globally as streaming audio.
More archived audio will be available on this site soon. Stay tuned!
