Ryakuga Internet Servers

Ryakuga's sprawling web presence (no apologies :) > is partially a result of design and partially the result of content acquisition.

Much of the content is derived from supporting live events with community groups from Argentina to Newfoundland.

Apart from reporting on and promoting live events; the design of the site focuses on community media tutorials; archiving documents related to the work of Ryakuga; delivery of streaming media, and interactive programs.

Initially we stored our material with Internet Service providers (we still utilize a number of ISPs). But in the past couple of years we have developed our own internet servers.

This enables us to host vast amounts of storage for our community partners and also implement our research in streaming media and interactive programs. At this time, we do not host other domains.

Note: In 2005 we have been blitzed with one virtual disaster after another. First our web boards were spammed out of existence. Then, in quick sequence, we lost our community server when an access centre was closed down; our Real videos disappeared when the provider slashed rtsp access, and our streaming server is closed down.

But reconstruction has begun. Stay tuned.
