It's necessary to transfer your files from your computer to your website on the server. Lots of free websites offer a built-in transfer protocol using your browser.

For the community media project, we are using Fetch. With this software, you have to find out the address of your website, your user name and your password. Then you simply create a shortcut so you don't have to type in this information again. Once connected to your website, you simply drag and drop your files and photos to the site.

This is another method using a browser to transfer files.

To send a file - photo (.jpg) or story (.html)

FTP (file transfer protocol) using Netscape.

Type your request in Find Location under file.

Call your Internet Service Provicer and ask for your server address.

ftp://user name:password@www3.nf.sympatico.ca/ryakuga

Resize the Netscape window.

Open file manager.

Drag your file into the directory.

Or - Under File click Upload File.

Select the file to upload and click OK.
